June 2008 Edmonton Chapter will be hosting Canadian District (formerly Region VIII) meeting.

Events

• PDM/Tour of Black Cat Blades Feb 19, ‘08.

Well attended by membership and NAIT evening classes

NAIT

• BOSCM classes held in both fall ‘07 and winter ‘08 semester
• Strategic Mgmt of Resources in fall ’07 semester
• Execution and Control in winter ‘08 semester

Membership

• Steady at 78 members.

Education

• Our CPIM courses continue to be a success story thanks largely to the efforts of Ken Keith and Eric Wood.
• We have consistently run 4 classes per year at NAIT, 2 in the fall semester and 2 in January. Some recent classes have had up to 16 students.
• Paper and pencil CPIM certification exams are being offered but there is continued lobbying for computer based testing (CBT) to return to Edmonton.

Finance

• Working on budget requirements.
• Healthy bank balance, improved cash flow.

Challenges for 2008

• BOD recruiting
• AGM & Elections in June ‘08
• Host Region VIII meeting in June
• Increase Membership
• Offer more courses at NAIT including spring session
• Bring more instructors on board
• Need local Computer Based Testing centre
