Call for Nominations to the APICS Edmonton Chapter Executive
The APICS Edmonton Chapter is accepting nominations for candidates...

Fellow APICS Edmonton Chapter members,
The APICS Edmonton Chapter is accepting nominations for candidates in the following 5 positions on the APICS Edmonton Chapter Board of Directors:

President - Responsibilities include: Scheduling of BOD Meetings, leads process to select delegates to attend regional conferences, budget responsibility, provides support to other Board Members, liaise with APICS Canadian District (formerly known as Region VIII) staff

Vice President of Administration - Responsibilities include: Bylaws, chapter management and compliance with operating guidelines

Vice President of Marketing and Communication - Responsibilities include: Organizing plant tours, annual general meeting, guest speakers, professional development seminars

Vice President of Membership - Responsibilities include: Tracking and communication of membership information, speaks to potential new members, membership growth

Vice President of Education - Responsibilities include: Arranging instructors, classes, orders materials, administers exam process, liaison with NAIT

Successful nominees must be prepared to commit the time and energy needed to maintain an active and successful chapter and be willing to serve a minimum 2 year term. The estimated time commitment is four to six hours per month.

Nominations will be accepted up until deadline of midnight June 4 2008.
To become eligible candidates for election, nominees must be current members of the APICS Edmonton Chapter.

If you are nominating someone, please be courteous enough to discuss your intention with him or her in advance. (No surprises please!)

Professional Development Meetings(PDM) - Facility Tours
APICS Edmonton chapter cordially invites you to join us on our next Professional Development Meeting (PDM) tours, as follows:

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008, 6:30 pm. - Black Cat Blades Ltd., 5604 59 Street NW, Edmonton, AB. (780) 465-6666

Black Cat Blades Edmonton facility produces a complete range of cutting edges and wear parts for all construction and earthmoving machinery as well as grader, snowplough and carbide insert blades for road maintenance equipment.
The PDM will be about 1½ hours, and it will include a tour through the plant, with explanations of the Edmonton production lines, materials management, and distribution.
